Legal roundtable on “Rule of Law for SFA activities in crisis zones”
On the 23rd and 24th the NATO SFA COE will host a legal roundtable on “Rule of Law for SFA activities in crisis zones”.
The event supports the Centre’s mission to improve the effectiveness of the Alliance in promoting stability and recontructiuon efforts and has the aim to discuss with a small group of experts from NATO and International Organizations, the main legal challenges and the possible approaches to developing a training program to ensure that local forces operate in a clear legal framework.
The event will analyze human rights, international humanitarian law, anti corruption policy, protection of civilians, reintegration of former combatants and other aspects as part of the training to the local security forces and their associated institutions.
The roundtable will address the transition activities and the need to assess and mitigate the risk of possible violence and the violation of human rights to the population.
