As part of its ongoing commitment to education, outreach, and knowledge-sharing within the Security Force Assistance (SFA) community of interest, the NATO Security Force Assistance Centre of Excellence (NATO SFA COE) hosted students from NATO Field School and Simulation Program, ran by the Simon Fraser University in Vancouver (Canada), for an immersive field visit in collaboration with the Italian Army Infantry School.

The event brought together students from ten NATO Nations and over twenty universities, providing a valuable insight into NATO’s SFA efforts and the broader dynamics of multinational military cooperation. The journey began at the Italian Army Infantry School where participants observed a series of training demonstrations showcasing small infantry units’ tactics and technics and operational capabilities.

Following the demonstrations, the NATO SFA COE offered students the opportunity to meet senior officers from both the Italian Army and the U.S. Army. These distinguished individuals shared their extensive professional expertise and operational experience, enriching the students’ understanding of the principles and practices that underpin international missions.

This engagement underscores the NATO SFA COE’s pivotal role in fostering dialogue, professional development, and practical insight among future leaders and security practitioners. By welcoming academic programs like NATO Field School, the Centre continues to enrich and diversify its community of interest while promoting the values of cooperation and partnership.

The day was marked by meaningful connections, learning opportunities, and a shared sense of purpose within the expanding network of the NATO SFA COE.
