As part of its ongoing commitment to education and building on previous engagements, the NATO Security Force Assistance Centre of Excellence (NATO SFA COE) once again welcomed the Canada NATO Field School and Simulation Program, organized by Simon Fraser University.
The visit, held in close coordination with the Italian Army Infantry School—specifically through its Training Regiment and Combat Training Centre—saw an expanded participation of students from over twenty-five universities, further solidifying the Centre’s commitment to international outreach and knowledge-sharing.
During the visit, participants observed live infantry training and a series of demonstrations showcasing small-unit tactics, techniques, and operational capabilities.
This visit offered students a unique opportunity to engage in a strategic dialogue with senior officers from both the Italian and U.S. Armies.
By drawing on the extensive operational experiences of these Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), participants gained a deeper, firsthand understanding of Italian and U.S. SFA perspectives and the complex principles that define modern multinational missions.
This recurring engagement underscores the NATO SFA COE’s pivotal role as a hub for professional development and practical insight.
By hosting this annual field visit, the Centre continues to diversify its community of interest and strengthen the bond between academia and the military, fostering a shared sense of purpose among the next generation of global security leaders.
