The NATO Security Force Assistance Centre of Excellence (NATO SFA COE) marked its 7th anniversary with an internal ceremony, bringing together current and former personnel.
The event was opened by the Director, Colonel Massimo Moncada, followed by remarks from Colonel Merlino, the Centre’s first Director, who presided over the ceremony.
The occasion commemorated the establishment of the Centre and its progressive development into a recognized hub of expertise in Security Force Assistance within NATO.
The celebration recalled a key milestone in the Centre’s history: the Opening Ceremony held on 26 March 2019, which marked its official presence in the NATO Centres of Excellence Community.
On that occasion, the Sponsoring Nations, Albania, Italy and Slovenia, formalized their commitment, enabling the Centre to achieve full accreditation and recognition within NATO.
The internal ceremony provided an excellent opportunity to reunite with former members of the Centre, exchange ideas on the evolution of Security Force Assistance activities, highlight key milestones, and acknowledge the valuable contributions of its personnel.
