On the 2nd of July 2026, the NATO Security Force Assistance Centre of Excellence (NATO SFA COE) hosted its first-ever Family Day, welcoming the families of its personnel to the Centre for an occasion dedicated to sharing the working environment, strengthening personal connections and celebrating the people who stand behind the NATO SFA COE community.

The initiative offered family members the opportunity to visit the Centre, meet colleagues from across the multinational staff and gain a closer understanding of the mission carried out every day in support of NATO Security Force Assistance.

As a multinational Centre of Excellence, NATO SFA COE brings together military personnel from different Sponsoring and Contributing Nations, each contributing with their own professional expertise, culture and experience.

Family Day reflected these values by promoting openness, inclusion and mutual understanding, recognising that diversity extends beyond the workplace and is enriched by the families who support the Centre’s personnel throughout their service.

The event also highlighted the importance of recognising the person behind the uniform, acknowledging that the commitment, dedication and achievements of NATO SFA COE personnel are made possible through the unwavering support of their families.

The success of this first edition marks an important milestone in strengthening the sense of community within the Centre.
